Source hierarchy
- Peer-reviewed primary human research and validated analytical studies
- Systematic reviews and consensus guidance
- Government and public-health sources
- Accredited laboratory documentation for method-specific details
Commercial calculator pages, anonymous posts, and marketing claims are not treated as primary evidence.
Writing and fact-checking
Each guide is structured around the user's question, distinguishes group-level findings from individual prediction, defines technical terms, and links to the evidence used. Dates and substantive updates are recorded. Claims are checked against the cited source rather than copied from search summaries.
Medical review
We do not display a “medically reviewed” badge unless a named, qualified professional has reviewed the content and agreed to publication of their identity, credentials, scope, and date. Independent clinical review is not currently claimed. The editorial team's evidence review is labeled separately so readers can see the difference.
Use of automated tools
Automated tools may assist with organization, readability, or technical implementation. They do not replace source verification, human editorial judgment, or qualified medical review. Unsupported citations and fabricated credentials are prohibited.
Updates and conflicts
High-traffic medical pages are checked when material new evidence, analytical guidance, or testing standards emerge. Any commercial relationship that could affect a page would be disclosed prominently. We currently do not accept test-company referral compensation.
